Types of Statistics
1. Descriptive Statistics:
Various techniques are applied to organize, display and describe a
given set of data by using graphs, tables and summary measures.
2. Inferential Statistics: The population of a given area is described based on the sample results.
3. Numerical statistics: are basically numbers. This process determines the average or mean of any given data.
4. Pictorial statistics: Numerical data is presented in pictures or graphs. This process is used to make complex and confusing data or information appear simple and straight-forward. Quantitative and Categorical variables make use of different types of graphs.
5. Inductive statistics: The objective is to make conclusions about population based on information extracted from sample results. Two types of tasks are performed:
* Parameter Estimates
* Hypothesis Tests
